Congratulations to the six Tyne Bridge Harriers who took part in the second of the Jesmond Dene Handicap Races.
Marc Fenwick, Mark Reynolds, Joy Fenwick, Kerry Reed, Emma Moir & Rob Kirtley all recorded times and scores on the 5K course through Jesmond Dene, Armstrong Park & Heaton Park.
Each of our runners who had taken part in the first race knocked valuable seconds off their previous times in this second of the series !!
Very well done & congratulations to Joy Fenwick who collected 3rd place prize in last nights race while Marc Fenwick recorded 3rd Fastest time of the night & knocking a second off his previous Jesmond Dene Race with 17:30
Big welcome to Tyne Bridge Harriers goes to Mark Reynolds who put in a great performance running for the first time in TBH Colours and also was 8 seconds faster than last time (it’s the vest !!)
Emma Moir powered through the challenging course to knock a massive 12 seconds from her previous race. Rob Kirtley clipped 5 seconds off his last time at Jesmond Dene & wasn’t wearing shades [GASP]!! Kerry Reed recorded a time of 24:40 as she took on the undulating 5K course for the first time.
Special mention goes to Gateshead Harriers Conrad Franks who was fastest Male on the night with a time of 17:01 & Caitlen Lloyd from Newcastle University who was fastest Female with a time of 21:02
Thanks once again to George Routledge & everyone at Heaton Harriers who organised / marshaled / supported the race tonight. Not forgetting our trusty Tyne Bridge Harriers supporters who encouraged our runners along the whole course .. Thank You

Thanks Rob – it was great to run in the black and white vest last night for the first time. The support around the course from various THB’s was much appreciated too. Onwards and upwards!

Rob and Emma running quicker than they did the last time they ran the Dene in difficult conditions.
