Club Captain Paul Hilton sends out a reminder that this Tuesday (16th August) sees the penultimate race in the Tyne Bridge Harriers Summer Series Grand Prix.

Its an all out 2 mile blast around Jesmond Dene. Start times are Staggered / Handicapped, allowing slower runners to start first, the handicapping system means that everyone has an equal chance of winning the race and everyone finishes around the same time making for some fantastic sprint finishes.

The overall winner will be the person who has accumulated the most points for the whole series & will be presented with a trophy at the end of year Awards Ceremony. That doesn’t mean that there is no chance of any prizes if you are lower down the table as the winner of Tuesday nights race will be awarded with a FREE entry into the Jelly Tea 10 Mile Road Race on 4th September.

It’s still all to play for.. will the tables turn.. ??? will Chris Thompson hold onto the lead he has held since the very first race back in April?? Will Club Champ Marc Fenwick once again smash the course record??

The race will get underway at 19:00 and club members can either meet at Byker Pool at the usual time for a jog to the start or make their way directly to Armstrong Bridge and meet up there at approx 18:45.

Here’s how the last race unfolded

Please wear club vests for the race.. it really makes a difference and promotes Tyne Bridge Harriers to people who may be out training and thinking about joining a Running Club.

See You There
