What a fantastic final race of the Series we had this evening.

There were a few tired, battered & bruised legs tonight after Sunday’s Great North Run, but we still had 36 Tyne Bridge Harrier Athletes / Friends & Guests line up for the sharp 2 mile gut busting blast around Jesmond Dene.

It was fantastic to see so many faces, some new faces and some familiar ones too coming down to sample some Tyne Bridge Harriers action !!

On a superb evening for racing, the Final Race got underway at 19:00 at the far end of Armstrong Bridge. Karen McNamara started tonight from scratch and went off on the ‘dave’

There was some extremely strong running out in the field this evening and some superb performances.

The race was won by Darryl Davison in 12:08.. well done Darryl

Congratulations go to new Dad & Club Champion and now Summer Series Champion.. Marc Fenwick who had an absolutely storming run (still burning off the Red Bull & on a high from the birth of his new Daughter Olivia) who cut through the 2 mile course in a blistering 10:08 a new course record and beating his previous record by a massive 12 seconds !! well done Marc. It was also lovely to see Baby Olivia making her debut as a TBH supporter !

Congratulations also go out to our new Ladies Summer series Champion Kerry Reed who after a great run on Sunday managed to hold on to the top spot and grab her well deserved trophy. Well done Kerry

Great also to see new signing Rob DeGiovanni making his debut run with TBH and making a fantastic impression with a time of 10:23

Well done to EVERYONE who took part in the whole of the Summer Series and thanks to our Club Captain Paul Hilton for putting together the course and for being Race director for the series too.

Thanks also go out to the many helpers , marshals and friends & family who have turned out to support the club and the athletes invlolved.
