Tyne Bridge Harriers had 10 athletes taking part in the weekly FREE timed event at Newcastle Town Moor on Saturday.

Conditions were absolutely superb as 09:00 came and the starter got the 92nd race underway.

There were some fantastic PB’s recorded; Mark Grassie continues his good form and chipped off 44 seconds from his previous PB. Joanne Lee recorded a new PB slicing 1 min 8 seconds off her last recorded time. Victoria Waugh put in a superb run and still returning from injury managed to chop 1 minute 16 seconds off. However the most fantastic NEW PB of the day was from Jude Smith who put in an excellent and determined run to carve, slice & dice her previous parkrun PB by a massive 2 mins : 48 seconds !! fantastic stuff Jude.. keep it going !

Rob Wishart was the first TBH over the line running a leisurely (for him) 19:20. He was followed closely by new TBH signing Brent Mitchell-Wright with a nice solid debut parkrun of 19:44 and one to build on. Once again Graham King was King of the 55-59 Age category.. well done Graham. New TBH athlete Catherine Amos put in a fantastic parkrun debut run of 20:55 showing her strength for the future. Rob ‘Shades’ Kirtley made a return to parkrun and still recovering from a foot injury managed to run a 22:19. Sam Collier was also determined (not to get poached) and ran the 5K in a steady 27:49.

Well done to everyone who took part.

  1. great work folks, Mark Grassie asked me what I thought he could do for a 5k, I said 22 minutes and he shouted “Honestly” as if I was telling him Santa Claus was real. Well he is chipping away and working hard by himself. I reckon he will do 22 mins this year if he puts the same effort in. Mark also came to the track after the Park Run.

Fantastic pb Jude, I saw that wee competitive glint in your eye at the cross country and this is only the start for you all in your athletics journey.

Catherine Amos had a solid start to her TBH career and will only improve.

Brent Mitchell Wright sub 20 in your first outing, brilliant.

Victoria and Joanne keep up the good work, Victoria in particular had a busy athletics week.

    Pwoud so Pwoud
