Winter GP Race Dates
18th October 2011
15th November 2011
20th December 2011
17th January 2012
21st February 2012
20th March 2012
The usual format of the races will be a Yacht Handicap system whereby runners are started at various intervals (handicap time) depending on their 5K time, slower runners start first, faster runners start last. The result of this is that everyone finishes the race at approximately the same time making for some excellent sprint finishes.
Volunteer Marshals will be in position around the course to direct you. It is hoped that there will also be a tail bike / runner
For this first race, everyone will start off together so that handicap times can be worked out for the following races.
The race will start & finish on Glasshouse Street at 18:45.
NOTE: It is vital that we start the race on time as the Millennium Bridge is opening (tilting) at 19:30
please don’t be late. The race WILL start without you.
Please meet at either the Pool at 18:00 – 18:30 for a warm up jog to the start or make your own way to Glasshouse Street (see map below).
Tyne Bridge Harriers Club Vests should be worn as this will be an excellent promotional opportunity for the club. Let’s get as many people out running along the Quayside as possible in Black n White.
