10 Club Athletes represented Tyne Bridge Harriers on Saturday morning on the Town Moor / Exhibition Park, for the 96th running of Newcastle parkrun.

The course had been changed to accommodate safety measures due to the increasing number of runners that are taking part. The new route is considered to be faster too. 261 runners waited at the line for the 09:00 start.

We had 3 athletes finish in the top 20. Well done to Dave Moir (4th) who finished in a fantastic 18:05 & first place in his age category.

Not far behind was Dan Birchall (8th) who had an absolute belter of a run & recorded a new PB knocking a massive 25 seconds off his previous course time by crossing the finish in 18:20 & first place in his age category. Well done Dan !!

Dave Appleby (13th) was the next strong TBH over the line recording a good solid time of 18:34

Mentions also go to Rob Wishart who ‘took it easy’ round the 5k course. Dave Daniels who took on the volunteer role of 20 minute pacer. Graham King had another excellent run and once again took first place in his age category. Micky Baker getting back to full strength and fitness and putting in a great performance on the day.

Our fantastic TBH ladies did well too. Victoria Waugh had a great run recording 25:34 which places her in 15th position in the JW14 category table. Penny Wilmott (26:07) & Kerry McAndrew (26:42) although a couple of minutes behind their top form ran well around the 5k course.

Well done to everyone who took part and a huge thanks to the parkrun Volunteers who made the race possible.
