Sean Kelly sends a reminder about an event being held at the weekend in conjunction with Tyne Bridge Harriers & North Shields Poly

Darran Bilton

On Sunday 4th March there is an essential meeting for all marathon runners. Darran Bilton is travelling to the north-east to talk about the marathon.

He will be talking about what the marathon means to him (he has competed at a very high level and has a PB of 2hr 20 minutes) and what motivates him. He will lead a discussion on what are people’s best and worst marathon memories and why they were the best and worst! He will be talking about marathon training, tapering, nutrition, the morning of the race itself, what to do during the race (water, gels, Vaseline, kit, pace making), how to recover after races and plenty more!

There will be a question and answer session before attendees split into groups for the traditional (and important) LONG SUNDAY RUN.

The meeting will take place at the North Shields Poly Club House which is at the Churchill Playing Fields, Monkseaton.

The meeting will take place 10.30am-12.30pm. Tea, coffee and juice will be available. ITS ALL FREE!

We look forward to seeing as many TBH members there as possible. You don’t have to have ever run a marathon or even have definite plans for one soon to be welcome at the meeting.

Thanks,

Sean

  1. Fist glance at the picture of Darren, make him look like he’s got a TBH vest on. I was initially really pleased to see you got him signed up already Sean, but looks like it might take a bit more work!!

  2. Thank you to Rob for posting this article so quickly and for then correcting my spelling mistakes. Super Shades!
