Dispite the cold temperature, strong northly wind and overcast conditions, the runners at newcastle parkrun were still extremely lucky. Why? Because it didn’t hail like the other weekend. The club had 13 members taking part in the run, with Dave Appleby being first finisher for the club in a time of 18m 46s. It was also Dave’s 50th run at parkrun and as a result will soon receive his special ’50th parkrun’ tee. Congratulations Dave.
Congratulations must also go to Darryl Davison, Megan Parkin and kelly Spence for recording PB’s in poor conditions. We also had two members making their parkrun debut at the weekend, Stuart Dickson and Alison Smith, and I’m sure they’ll both become as addicted to parkrun as everybody else.

Gateshead parkrun
Across the river, over in Gateshead, two members were both making their event debut. Lucy Matheson ran a great race, not only recording a parkrun PB (21m 48s) but also finishing as first female overall. Alongside Lucy, Louise Picken ran a steady race and clocked a time of 30m 32s. Well done ladies.
