Normal service resumed at Newcastle parkrun this Saturday, as the previous weekend’s glorious weather was replaced with cloudy skies and cool, damp conditions. Thankfully, the large turn-out of runners helped create a smashing atmosphere (as usual) and there were some terrific performances on the day.

Tyne Bridge had seven members out running, with Club Champion, Tony Carter, continuing his fine form by coming home first overall, in a time of 16:36.

Also making massive strides in their running are Stuart Dickson and Alison Smith, both of whom recorded PB’s during Saturday’s event. Stuart knocked an impressive 52 seconds off his previous time (22:01 from 22:53), whilst Alison dropped her PB by another 20 seconds (28:15 from 28:35). Massive congratulations to both ;-)

Saturday’s event was also the 3rd race in TBH’s Summer parkrun series and an updated points list will follow shortly.

Well done to all members who took part and many thanks to Louis Goffe, Kayoung Lee and Kerry Reed for helping out during the event.

Meanwhile, across the river Tyne, Katrina Matheson was making her Gateshead parkrun debut and finished 4th female overall, in a time of 26:16. Well done Katrina.
