As part of the the Newcastle Pride celebrations, a 5k fun was scheduled to take place around Exhitbition park and Newcastle Town Moor, but due to the recent poor weather – and resultant flood damage – the 5k run was switched at the last moment to Leazes Park. But this change of venue didn’t deter the field of 80 runners, including a small contingent from Tyne Bridge.
First back for the club, and finishing 2nd overall, was Marc Fenwick, in a time of 16.05, closely followed by Tony Carter, 16.36.
Making up the group were Colin Dilks (9th, 18.37) and Stephen Dixon (30th, 23.34).
Well done guys.
Race winner was Yared Hagos (Wallsend) in a scintillating time of 14.30.

Can I just add, I would have finished 6th and probably of got a PB of under 19 minutes but ended up doing another lap around the lake which made my fellow harriers laugh. Still, really enjoyed it.
