Tyne Bridge had five members running in the 30th Redcar Half Marathon, and although the strong westerly winds made life difficult, every one of them performed stoically.
First for the club (and finishing in 28th position overall) was David Daniels, in 1:22:30. Next was Dave Young, in 1:33:02, closely followed by Sophie Marr, 1:33:13.
Fourth member across the line was Emma Wright, finishing in 1:42, and completing the fivesome was Sarah Kipling, finishing her first ever half marathon in 2:30:43.
Sophie’s great performance was rewarded with her picking up the Ladies 4th place prize, whilst I must mention Sarah’s courageous run after injurying her knee at the 4 mile marker. Many a runner would have dropped out but Sarah showed true determination by completing the race and honouring the TBH vest.
