Congratulations to everyone involved with the first harrier league fixture of the season.
Outstanding performances by the Men and Ladies teams resulted in victories in both their respective divisions, with the Men also finishing 2nd overall behind Morpeth.
The points scoring system employed by the harrier league means every race position counts, and both victories are a result of having some seriously quick runners and also a tremendous strength in depth in both teams. There were 23 finishers for the men’s team and seven finishers for the Ladies (Natalie Batey was classed as a non-counter on the day), so everyone played their part.
The next fixture is at Shipdon Pond, Blaydon, on 17th November, and again the club needs as many members to turn out as possible to build on this winning start.
Below are the men’s and ladies’ times and positions (provisional for the men).

Tremendous effort by the TyneBridge men and thanks to all that came and supported us , it really does make a difference when we hear you all cheering us on from the sidelines.
Newly promoted to division 2 from 3, our winning streak of winning every single harrier league fixture in our division since the club entered the NEHL in October last year continues, lets keep it up , roll on Blaydon !
Yet another great day for the club.
We have now come to expect our men to do the business, but to continue our good run of having won every divisional race since we started is amazing. However, for me, the performance of the day has to be the ladies team. Although not as many women turned out as we would have expected, those that did performed heroically for the club on what was a very difficult course. For the ladies to win the race outright and top divison one after the first race is fantastic, so well done to all the ladies for that effort.
We now need to concentrate on the next race at Blaydon, so come on all you who didn’t show on Saturday, both male and female. This is a fast, flat course on good parkland so we need runners, both male and female, to turn out in high numbers to keep the momentum going.
