Well done to all the members who competed at a parkrun event this weekend.
Due to the poor weather and several other races over the weekend, numbers were down compared to other weekends, but that still didn’t distract from a couple of good performances from several Tyne Bridge members.
At Whitley Bay parkrun, Mark (Jacko) Jackson finished in 4th position whilst Catherine Willis managed to finish first lady in the run (23rd overall).

First – well done to all the Harriers out there
2nd – the Marshall’s did a good job of keeping everyone safe down at Whitley – conditions in parts were not nice, nowt compared to the XC mind you but tricky all the same.
3rd – well done for Town Moor park run for doing all they could to get it sorted and let everyone know about the cancellation in time (as if they’d left it til Saturday I’d have just cancelled rather than going down to Whitley – which was worth my while ).
4th – thank you Jacko for proving someone actually does read the articles on the website
I also want to thank Newcastle ParkRun for giving plenty of notice for the cancellation, just like Mark I too would no doubt have just ditched the idea of a run, but in this case I had plenty of time to find out about the Whitley Bay ParkRun which meant I got to take part there for the first time, and it was SO worth it. The weather was absolutely perfect, bright blue sky, lovely fluffy snow underfoot, and thankyou also to whichever runner shouted ‘come on Tyne Bridge!’ to be when I begun to flag, it gave me a kick up the bum and I got a better time than I expected thanks to you, whoever it was..please come forward!!
Gemma, I remember shouting to you when we were on the lower concourse, i was running towards you and gave you a shout? so if it was that shout that helped, then i’m pleased it worked!
Cat! Hurrah, it was you then! You were miles ahead of me and I was like..here..to hell with this -picks up the pace- haha, so thanks Get me added on FB x
