Continuing his recent great form, Marc Fenwick finished in a superb 2nd place in this year’s Newburn River Run, narrowly being beaten by Morpeth Harrier, Matthew Nicholson. Nicholson’s Morpeth team-mate, Nick Swinburn, finished 3rd, with 1st Lady Aly Dixon (Sunderland Strollers) finishing 4th overall.
The race, superbly organised by Elswick Harriers, attracted a field of 350 runners, including 20 Tyne Bridge Harriers. And the club were rewarded with their efforts by claiming 2nd Team Prize (behind Morpeth Harriers) thanks to Marc, Sparrow Morley (8th) and Matt Brent (10th).
First lady for the club was Lucy Matheson.
