Oh what a night!!

A record attendance, PB’s galore and Keith Smith turning up on time ;-)

On a lovely summer’s evening, 86 runners completed the 2-Mile course through Jesmond Dene, with newcomer Sara Corcoran coming first on her race debut. Finishing in 2nd place, just a few seconds behind, was another race debutant, Aiofe Power. Well done ladies.

First male was Gareth Atkinson (yeah, another newcomer) who finished in 5th place overall.

Quickest run of the night went to Darryl Davison, who flew around the course in a time of 10:33, and Jordan Mullinger was fastest lady (12:06). Congratulations DD2 and Jordan.

Of course, although every runner should be applauded for their efforts, special thanks must go to the members who volunteered their services on the night. Without them there simply wouldn’t be a race.

Provisional results.

(as anyone who has read one of my race reports will testify, spelling isn’t one of my strong points – just ask Stephanie, so if I’ve spelt your name incorrectly – or have got your time wrong – please leave a comment and I’ll amend soonest. DD).

Points table after race 5.

* volunteering points. 350 pts for first time, 50 pts there after.

  1. 86 runners, wow! Results are up in super fast time too, well done to all involved. PB for me tonight so I’m happy!

  2. Good to see TC back at the club and also Keith Smith returning to form. And what about the number of first timers tonight!! Amazing.
Will we get 100 runners out in the final race of the series?
