Selecting the TBH Member of the Month for September was extremely difficult.
With so much happening throughout the month, including the Tynedale 10M, Tees Pride 10k, Great North Run and the Redcar Half, trying to keep track of all the terrific performances was a challenge in itself.
But our winner, Keith Rooney, excelled in every event he entered during September.
An excellent result in the Tynedale 10M was followed by a PB in the Tees 10K and Keith rounded off his superb month with a 5k PB at Whitley Bay parkrun.
Tynedale 10M: 1:09:37 PB (by 15 minutes)
Tees 10K: 41:29 PB
Whitley Bay parkrun: 19:48 PB (1st time under 20 minutes)
Because he’s a distant cousin of Wayne “C’mon ROONEY!!”, Keith is often the target of light-hearted banter, but all joking aside, there’s not one member who has improved so much since joining the club and Keith has the utmost respect from everyone on the committee.
Many congratulations Keith

Massive congratulations Keith, so richly deserved after so much hard work in the last year. A real inspiration to all club members at every level. I’m personally so pleased for you.
You are unrecognisable from the Tynemouth Lodge barfly of 3 years ago. Now you are a Steve Ovett lookalike with a list of PBs that would be the envy of any club runner. Many congratulations!
Very well deserved Keith, I thought you had it in the bag just on your excellent race reports.
