The 5th race of the TBH Winter Grand Prix takes place on Tuesday, 4th February.
An exact 5k course along Newcastle Quayside sees athletes crossing both the Swing Bridge and Millennium Bridge before making their way back to Low Walker (the start and finishing point of the race).
All members / new runners to the club are welcome to take part in the event, and don’t worry if you haven’t competed in any of the previous races as current form in training and recent race times will be taken into consideration when the Handicaps times are set.
For those not familiar with handicap races, slower runners set off first with faster runners introduced at later intervals.
All competitors are asked to register at East End Pool between 6:00 – 6:30pm before making their way to Low Walker for a 7:00pm start.
Runners competing in the event for the first time are asked to fill in this pre-registration form.
Further details about the event can be found here and a map of the route here.
(the event requires lots of marshals and stewards, so if you want to help out in any way we’d love to hear from you).
