The recipient of February’s Member of the Month will be unfamiliar to a lot of members, especially those who have joined within the past six months or so, as a series of injuries have meant this runner hasn’t been able to train with the club in that time. But it’s fair to say the influence they have at Tyne Bridge Harriers is massive, particularly when it comes to attracting new runners to the club.

When asked why they came along to a training session they often reply “I liked the look of the [TBH] website and decided to give it ago.”

Since it’s inception the website has been a major factor in the success of TBH and was recently upgraded to accept online entries for the Bridges of the Tyne 5M race, saving competitors both time and money. And the keen eyed amongst you would have noticed several new sponsors on the main page too. All thanks to this member.

They do an enormous amount of work for the club, most of which goes un-noticed, and they’re probably going to hate being made the centre of attention, but February’s Member of the Month is Rob Kirtley

  1. On a personal level, I’d like to thank Rob for making my task on the website a whole lot easier. All the technical stuff he does in the background means I simply have to ‘cut & paste’ articles and voila.
Now if only he could stay injury free for a while and show us what a damn good runner he is too.

  2. Richly deserved. Great guy, great runner and the way the website runs so smoothly a bit of a geek. Well done Rob

  3. Fantastic choice given all the work he does behind the scenes. I for one was taken in by the lure of the site :) Well done Rob.
