Many thanks to everyone who took part in this year’s Bridges of the Tyne 5M road race.
Glorious sunshine greeted the runners as they tackled the out-and-back course along Newcastle quayside, and leading the way was Andy Burn (Jarrow & Hebburn) who took the honours ahead of Conrad Franks (Gateshead Harriers) and Kevin Jeffress (Sunderland Harriers).
In the ladies race, Alyson Dixon (Sunderland Strollers) was once again victorious, completing a hat-trick of wins on the quayside. Making up the top 3 ladies were Alex Snook (Jarrow & Hebburn) and Alison Dargie (Tyne Bridge Harriers).
Congratulations to Andy & Alyson

Great race guys, gutted I couldn’t get up to do it but what’s up with the chip timing? Looks a bit odd.
Hi. Great event. Enjoyed it (afterwards). Shouldn’t Steve be V45 and Keith be V50?
Terry, it goes on the prize of the higher value, the V40 cat had a higher value than the V45 so he gets awarded that prize, the same for Smithy.
Cheers Apples, makes sense.
Tyne Bridgers know how to stage a top race!!! Gotta say massive thanks to all marshalls who were great support and gave up chance to race to help instead. I love Tyne Bridge
Thanks for another brilliant event. Well organised, friendly and very efficient. Looking forward to next year’s event! Well worth the mad post work dash from Leeds to run!
