It was 1, 2, 3 for Tyne Bridge Harriers at this year’s Summer Relays (hosted by Durham City Harriers).

In the Senior Ladies race, the trio of Sophie Marr, Lindsay Walsh and Becky Parkin finished in 3rd place behind winners Morpeth Harriers (unfortunately I didn’t catch the 2nd place team).

Whilst in the Senior Men’s race, the three man team of Marc Fenwick, Shaun Brown and James Dunce were narrowly beaten by host club Durham City to finish in 2nd place overall. Sunderland Harriers finished 3rd.

But coming away as winners on the night were the Men’s Veteran team of Keith Smith, Dominic Munnelly and Terry Scott. Strong performances by all three was just enough to withstand the challenges from Elswick Harriers and North Shields Poly, 2nd and 3rd place finishers respectively.

Congratulations to all the winners, and thanks to all the members who competed on the evening.

Hopefully everyone will have dried out by now.
