There were as usual, many excellent performances from the TBH members but several stood out. Both Phil Scott and Lee Cuthbertson have had exceptional returns from injury and would have been deserved winners in their own right.

Rob-WishartHowever, the August Member of the Month with his feats of endurance is Rob Wishart.

After his 1st attempt to get from Liverpool to Leeds along the canal route was aborted, he returned in a matter of weeks to complete this challenge, this time going in the opposite direction. Although we do not see Rob much at club sessions due to his work commitments he is a great ambassador for TBH.

Well done Rob :good:

You can read amusing accounts of Rob’s two runs here and here.

Footnote: Sincere apologies to July’s Member of the Month Christine Elliott, who although mentioned in the monthly committee meeting minutes, was sadly was not featured on the club website. Christine joined the club in April 2015 and in three months of competition has achieved five FV55 club records (shot, hammer, discus, javelin & long jump), as well as the senior hammer record and North East Masters (NEMAA) all time FV55 records in the shot, hammer & discus. These performances have resulted in her being ranked UK FV55 5th in the shot, 9th in the javelin, 11th in the hammer & 15th in the hammer. This was rounded off by Christine travelling to Fairfax, Virginia, earlier this month to represent Great Britain in the World Police & Fire games, where she won a silver in the discus & a bronze in the long jump & javelin!

Belated congratulations Christine.
