Kevin (the Cheetah) Cheetham reports from the latest Masters Track & Field fixture.

Monkton Stadium, Jarrow: Monday 18 July 2016

A healthy turn out from the men, including debutantes Neil Middleton, Steve Attley and Stu Dickson making a total of 15 competitors, ensured TBH winning the fixture and in a good position to finish runners up overall with one fixture to go.

It was again pleasing to see a number of new club records set or broken, with Adam Wood, Sandy Anderson, Chris Bartlett and David Frost among those adding their names to the record list. Neil taking my own discus record – throwing further in one throw than I managed with my two throws added together!!

Due to injury, holidays and work commitments it was the ever reliable Sara James, Parul Akter and Maggie Davison earning the points for the ladies to cement their 2nd place in the table.

The final fixture is Monday 1st August where there will be the additional 4 x 100m relay and 4 x 400m relay (only the 4 x 400m counting in the team event).  It would be great if we could get another strong turn-out for the final fixture and secure the runners-up spot. Any member over 35yrs can take part, but you must register with NEMAA.

Go on, you know you want to.
