Congratulations to our Member of the Month for March, David Carr. Anyone familiar with the TBH Junior website will know that David is one of TBH’s most promising runners, with a string of recent accomplishments, including a fast 12:47 at the Sherman Cup in January.

The run David was nominated for, though, was the final TBH Winter GP 5k, where he broke the club under 13 record with a time of 19:58. David, well done, and we all hope to see you go from strength to strength with TBH.

We (your committee volunteers) vote on your nominations for Member of the Month, and every month, we receive nominations for TBH members who have made outstanding contributions to the club and have achieved impressive results, in training, or in races. Ultimately we have to choose a winner, and although many achievements are recognised in race results on the TBH website and in the Facebook group, from now on I’ll mention the other nominees and the reasons you and your fellow runners gave for nominating them:

Paul O’Mara, who won the Kielder Dark Skies 14, and ran a 5k PB at Temple Park;

Sophie Marr, who was 1st female at the Kielder Dark Skies 14, 3rd female at the Cheviot Trail Race 1 and ran a 10k PB at the Blyth 10k;

Jevan Robertson, who ran a sub 3hr PB at the Manchester Marathon and was also praised for his inclusivity and encouragement of all members of TBH.

Well done all. Nominations are encouraged from all groups and for a range of reasons, including but not limited to race performances. Get in touch if you want to nominate someone, or if you have an opinion about the Member of the Month award.
