This year we have changed the format of the President’s Shield to acknowledge performance in
the selected races and participation in club events. The five races are (more information below):

• Sand Dancer 10k
• Angel View Trail Run
• Fell ‘Em Doon 5 Miler
• Quayside 5k
• Memorial 10k this will also be the Club Championship Race

You must have signed up for the race/s as TBH so that you appear in the results for the club.

Performance

The performance element is based on your performance in races that have been pre-selected
by the TBH Committee. We have chosen five races of different distances and different terrain,
and you need to take part in at least three to be considered. If you take part in more than three
then your best 3 count. You will be automatically entered into the President’s Shield when you
take part in one of our pre-selected races, up until the Fell Em Doon 5 miler.

Points are awarded as follows:
20 points for 1st TBH home (20 for 1st male and 1st female)
19 points for 2nd
And so on down to 1 point. If more than 20 TBH members run then all remaining finishers get 1
point.
If you get a distance PB in this race you get 5 bonus points and if you better your previous
attempt at the same race then you get 2 more bonus points. PBs will be taken from runbritain.


Participation

We recognise that there are plenty of prizes and awards dedicated to running the fastest and
would like to acknowledge those who regularly turn out and represent the club. Points for
participation in club events are as followed:

• Relays (e.g., Good Friday, Birtley, Weetslade) – 50 points for each event you partake in
• XC (NEHL or Northerns/Nationals etc) – 50 points for each event
• Track & Field – 50 points for each Northern League T&F meeting you attend and compete in plus 100 points for volunteering 
• Volunteering at a TBH Parkrun takeover – 50 points
• Running at a TBH Parkrun takeover – 25 points
• Volunteering at a TBH Race (e.g., Bridges of the Tyne, summer grand prix) – 50 points
Events that are only open to certain members (e.g., Masters events, NEMAA) are not included.

To gain your participation points you must still complete at least 3 of the selected President’s
Shield races. Participation points will be calculated after the final race, the Memorial 10k in
November. Relays or XC after this date will not be included.

Sunday 14 April – South Shields Harriers Sand Dancer 10k

Thursday 30 May – Low Fell R.C. Angel View Trail Run

Tues 30 July – Ashington Hirst Fell ‘Em Doon 5 Miler 

Wednesday 7 August – Gateshead Harriers Quayside 5k

Sunday 10 November – Heaton Harriers Memorial 10k (TBA) – this will also be the Club
Championship Race
