Six of us headed up to Ashington on Tuesday for a lovely shady run around the woods.

31:55 Anthony Tait – third place!
38:50 Sarah Hamblin
39:17 Claire Norman
39:25 Gemma Finnie
42:48 James Prescott
49:45 Elaine O’Mara

Well done to Anthony for an excellent 3rd place and 5 mile PB. Sarah, Gemma and I would have got the ladies team prize had there been one (not that we’re counting ;) ) Overall this was a really fun race, well-organised and friendly – and only £13!! Thanks very much to Ashington Hirst Running Club for organising it and definitely one I would recommend for next year.

President’s Shield Update

After race 3, Elaine O’Mara has one hand on the Shield as she is the only person so far to have completed every race. She has also competed in loads of T&F and XC so is likely to pick up plenty of participation points too.

Top 3 as it stands:

Elaine O’Mara49
Paul O’Mara41
Heather Dorman =40
Anthony Tait =40

The next race is the Quayside 5k on Wednesday! Please note that as there are only two events left in the series you must have already completed in one of the PS races to be considered for the shield overall – but even if you have only done one there is a chance to claw points back at the Quayside 5k and the Heaton 10k. Your best 3 races count towards the performance points.
