Tyne Bridge Harriers are about to launch the very first issue of their own magazine. RUN:TBH will be a 3,000-print run magazine, published three times a year, with a first issue appearing in February 2012 following the club’s 1st anniversary.

Deka and I have just returned from our trip to Vietnam. We were hoping to run out there but having looked on You Tube before we went, there are almost 3 million motorbikes in Hanoi, the capital, and there are few traffic lights or road lanes. Walking across the road would prove difficult, never mind running. Anyway a bit more research online I came across the Hanoi Hash House Harriers.

The Run For Bob is an annual charity run organised by the members of our friends at North Shields Poly. The run is in memory of late NSP member and runner Bob Peart who was one of the North-East’s top veteran athletes, who sadly died of cancer in 2001.
At the beginning of this year. Tyne Bridge Harriers athletes set out their running goals for 2012. This table will monitor the progress and hopefully see each and every one achieved by the end of the year.

Tyne Bridge Harriers had 8 club athletes out on New Years Day to take on the Resolution Run. Its a two lap course mainly on grass which takes in both the hills on Newcastles Town Moor. The annual race is organised by Paramjeet Bhogal of Heaton Harriers and this year was sponsored by sports & fitness suppliers Up & Running in Gosforth.
Saturday, 7th January 2012, is the date for the next race in Tyne Bridge Harriers' Winter parkrun Series. The series of six races, held on the first Saturday of each month throughout winter, runs in conjunction with Newcastle parkrun, and the club member with the highest combined points total at the end of the series will be announced the winner.
To see the year out in style, several club members participated in parkrun last weekend, either on our home patch of Newcastle Town Moor, or around Middlesbrough Albert Park. Well done to all those who took part.
At the beginning of 2011 when Tyne Bridge Harriers was newly formed and starting to gain a significant rise in membership, the idea to have a sweepstake – for a bit of fun and to encourage recruitment – to guess the amount of signed up athletes the club would have at the end of the year came into fruition.
The first Race Report of 2012 has been submitted by our fantastic Ladies Captain Denise Waugh from the Morpeth 11K. It really seemed like a good idea at the time. A race, on New Year’s Day, would be an excellent start to 2012. At least, that was how it seemed a week ago. New
