Saturday, 7th January 2012, is the date for the next race in Tyne Bridge Harriers' Winter parkrun Series. The series of six races, held on the first Saturday of each month throughout winter, runs in conjunction with Newcastle parkrun, and the club member with the highest combined points total at the end of the series will be announced the winner.
To see the year out in style, several club members participated in parkrun last weekend, either on our home patch of Newcastle Town Moor, or around Middlesbrough Albert Park. Well done to all those who took part.
At the beginning of 2011 when Tyne Bridge Harriers was newly formed and starting to gain a significant rise in membership, the idea to have a sweepstake – for a bit of fun and to encourage recruitment – to guess the amount of signed up athletes the club would have at the end of the year came into fruition.

The Northern Athletics Cross Country Championships 2012 will take place on Saturday 28th January at Pontefract Park (Racecourse), Wakefield. Tyne Bridge Harriers will be sending teams down to compete in this event. The first SIX in the Senior Men’s race and first FOUR in all other races will be a club’s scoring counters.

A fantastic day was had by all as a record 780 runners turned out at Whitley Bay Links on Boxing Day to run the 3.1 miles of the Xmas Pudding Run. Tyne Bridge Harriers will be turning out for the annual Xmas Pudding Run in Whitley Bay on Boxing Day Monday 26th December 2011. The popular run is jointly organised by Woodlawn Parents & Friends Association (WPFA) and North Shields Polytechnic Running Club
It’s Christmas Eve and today we have our penultimate Dave Of Christmas or in this case ChristMISS as we get the low down on one of our female ‘Daves’.. TBH Ladies Captain, Dave Waugh. I am not really a ‘Dave’ but the other Daves of Christmas have inspired me to become one (temporarily for the purposes of this article!)
There are several Tyne Bridge Harriers meeting up on Sunday morning for a steady Christmas Morning Run of approximately 8.5 miles. Meeting at the Station Road Roundabout in Wallsend (see map below) at 07:50 for a 08:00 start.
