10 Club Athletes represented Tyne Bridge Harriers on Saturday morning on the Town Moor / Exhibition Park, for the 96th running of Newcastle parkrun. The course had been changed to accommodate safety measures due to the increasing number of runners that are taking part. The new route is considered to be faster too. 261 runners waited at the line for the 09:00 start.

Tyne Bridge Harrier Mark Allison has announced his next Challenge for 2013. MEGA marathon-man, Mark ‘Run Geordie Run’ Allison announced today his mammoth Australian challenge, to run from Perth to Sydney covering 2600 miles in some of the toughest conditions and terrain known to man.

A few months ago, me and a couple of friends decided that running the Snowdonia Marathon was a good idea. I’d ran the race once before and swore at the finish line never to run it again. Anyway almost four years down the line I found myself back at the start line. My preparation for the race had been great and although I felt like I was carrying a little extra timber, I knew I was running well.
The tone for the day was set for TBH by the time the under 11 boys race set off. Our rising star, Leodhais Macpherson was turned away from the start by an official as he had just celebrated his 11th birthday. It was unclear whether or not he was permitted to run with the under 11s,
Mr Moir sends in this report 'fresh' from the field of the Newcastle Town Moor Marathon. The idea of a 5 lap marathon puts many people off this marathon, but not 4 hardy TBH-ers. People often consider it to be an easy but boring course, but I’ve always found it to be a bit trickier than just that.
