Saturday, 7th January 2012, is the date for the next race in Tyne Bridge Harriers' Winter parkrun Series. The series of six races, held on the first Saturday of each month throughout winter, runs in conjunction with Newcastle parkrun, and the club member with the highest combined points total at the end of the series will be announced the winner.
With the advantage of a canny handicap, it was Tyne Bridge's very own Member of the Year, Rob Kirtley, who was first past the finishing line. Romping home in a time of 22m 26s (real time of 19m 46s), Rob was almost 3 minutes ahead of the second placed runner, Victoria Waugh.
We had 8 club athletes taking part in the 3rd of our Newcastle parkrun Winter GP races on Saturday. Points are calculated using the Age Grade %. The athlete with the most points at the end of the series of 6 races is deemed the Winner. Current GP table will be published on here soon.
On a chilly evening down by the River Tyne, a magnificent 37 members turned up to compete in the second race of this year's Winter Grand Prix Series. However, unlike the first contest which was a straight race, tonight's race brought the handicap system in use.
Just a reminder everyone that this Tuesday (15th November) is our Winter Series down on the Quayside, it is an exact 5k distance and crosses 2 of the Tyne's Bridge's - Millenium Bridge and the Swing Bridge.

Despite the ghastly weather conditions and a last minute change to the route (who knew the Swing Bridge was still in operation?), there were some magnificent performances in the first race of the Winter Grand Prix.

Well done to the 10 Tyne Bridge Harriers athletes who turned up at Newcastle parkrun on Saturday morning to represent the club & take part in the free 5K timed race. This particular event also marked the very first of 6 races in the TBH Winter parkrun GP Series.
What a fantastic final race of the Series we had this evening. There were a few tired, battered & bruised legs tonight after Sunday’s Great North Run, but we still had 36 Tyne Bridge Harrier Athletes / Friends & Guests line up for the sharp 2 mile gut busting blast around Jesmond Dene.
A reminder to all Tyne Bridge Harriers that Tuesday 20th September sees the final race of the Summer series Grand Prix. The two mile all out blast around Jesmond Dene has been a very popular series among Club Members and we want to see another superb turnout on Tuesday.
This Saturday, 3rd September, is the 6th and final race in the club's parkrun Grand Prix Series. Currently at the top of the table is Mark Hall (150 pts) but in close attendance, and with a fantastic opportunity
