Juniors have the opportunity to take part in Cross Country (XC) and represent the club. This is an exciting and accessible form of racing. We participate in the North East Harrier League (NEHL) which is an inter-club competition with events across the North East region. In addition, there are also numerous extra XC events including regional and national events.
Juniors have to be aged 9 on the day of competition to take part as an Under 11 in the NEHL. At this age it’s intended to be an introduction and they don’t compete as a team and don’t have to wear club colours although most do.
Team competitions take place for Under 13, Under 15, Under 17 and Under 19 age groups. Age groups are quite complicated as they’re based on the age the child was on 31st August but we will help sort this out.
What do you need to take part?
- All juniors need to be registered so please email juniors@tynebridgeharriers.com to sort this step.
- From U13 and above you must wear club colours.
- Spikes or trail shoes are recommended. We often have spares so do ask before buying.
- Warm clothes to change in to afterwards.
- Wellies or boots are often recommended as the ground gets pretty muddy.
How much does it cost?
- The best things in life are FREE! Yes, there’s no charge to take part, it’s part of your membership subscription.
