Well done to the 9 runners we had representing TBH at Jarrow today
It was a fairly mild day, but the grass had been recently cut, and the massive amount cut grass on the course made it fairly tough going.
First race was the Year 4 girls. We had 4 runners in that, all of which were in-fact year 3 girls, but were allowed to take part as they are regulars at training.
Hannah Cherif was first in in 7th place, a great achievement for her first ever race and bearing in mind she was racing girls who were mostly a year older than her. Next in was Katherine Bird (17th) who due to lack of races for her age category, has been looking forward to this all year, then it was new signing Sydney Bungey (19th) followed closely behind Sophie Hawkins (22nd).
The next race was the year 4 boys with Jake Moir finishing 7th overall despite a fall near the end, with William Adams backing him up in 25th place.
Then we had our other new signing Imogen Bungey who managed to get into the medals in the year 5 girls race coming 3rd overall, with Hope Moir who held off several challenges near the end, backing her up strongly in 15th.
Last race we had representation in was the year 6 girls, with Lauren Bird holding off a strong challenge in the run in to finish 26th.
Really good morning of racing and thanks to the organisers Jarrow & Hebburn AC for putting it on.
