I started running at school but was only interested in track sessions.
After leaving school I never ran for several years but then in January 2014 I wanted to lose a bit weight so my sister-in-law suggested running.
When I stopped laughing I said ‘I’ll give it ago’. We went for our first run together which wasn’t pretty (I think I stopped 3 times during 2 miles). The following week I was pushed into running with the TBH beginners group.
I absolutely loved it and don’t thing I missed a session for the remainder of the year.
The following year I took a Leader in Running Fitness course before becoming an Athletics coach.
I now work with our Juniors, which is just brilliant. My daughter Jess also runs with the Juniors and loves every training session. As well as training we have a great time, lots of fun and enjoy a few laughs along the way.
The best thing about all this running is I’ve made some amazing friends.
And no I haven’t lost any weight yet.
