It’s been a busy day at the North Eastern Counties Cross Country Championships that took place at Wrekenton on a very blustery and wintry day.
First up was Ruby Colver who was our only U11 competitor. Congratulations on taking on a tough course in such tough conditions.
Up next was Amber Maynard who was competing in the U13 Girls race. She came 62nd in a time of 17:55. Well done.
U13 boys had a great turn out and a very competitive race. Zak Kettle was Tyne Bridge’s first finisher in 21st place in a time of 14:05. Next for Tyne Bridge was David Carr in 25th place in a time of 14:17. Harry Snaith had a strong run finishing in 45th place in a time of 15:14. Next up was Jake Moir in a time of 16:28 coming home in 66th place and Joe Egget had his first run in the U13s and ran 20:19 to come 76th. Great running from the boys and great times too.
Amelia Short was TBH’s only competitor in the U15 age category and came 47th in a time of 18:09.
Dave Moir should receive special mention for his efforts in getting all of the kids ready to run and also making sure they had somewhere warm to recoup after their exertions. In the spirit of Henry’s race report, Dave would like to share that for lunch he had Quorn Ham with whole grain mustard, accompanied by Salt & Vinegar Crinkle cut crisps, and a protein shake to wash it all down. Look no further kids, that’s the diet of a winner.
