Finlay Dorman reports from the final cross-country fixture of the season at Wrekenton.

It was misty, but the ground was firm. We didn’t have to wade through thick sludge! So all was well for the nine TBH runners.

To kick off the show was our youngest competitor Jake Moir in the u11 boy’s category, who finished the season in style! Finishing an excellent 50th place.

Then it was the u11 girls with Anna Dorman leading the Tyne Bridge charge finishing her best place ever, a well-earned 24th, then Lauren Bird who battled hard and finished 35th closely followed by Jessica Walton finishing on a high with a respectable 40th, Hope Moir finished XC season with a pleasing 47th place.

The penultimate race of the junior XC season was the u13 boys. Finlay Dorman was looking to finish his season with a top ten (and promotion to the fast pack) run. And boy did he do it in style! He finished a sublime 9th, holding off his contenders in an exhausting last 200m.  Well done Finlay!  Jake Dorman (who is in the fast pack) finished 17th, 10th on overall time. A very consistent season, well done Jake! 😉 Then completing the team was Keiron Wilkinson, doing his first XC since breaking his arm several months ago, finishing a good 48th place.

To round off the TBH junior’s XC season was the u13 girls with Jane Harland coming in at a well fought 25th place and Hannah Turney finishing a determined 51st place.

Well done to all the juniors who turned up on this grey day, and what a way to finish off our XC season!

Also the adults won both the Harrier Leagues! So well done to them!
