Tyne Bridge Harriers take great pride on being an inclusive club, welcoming runners from all walks of life.
To broaden our appeal to the wider community, regular club members Margi Eccles and Danny Fletcher recently enrolled on the Mental Health Ambassador Programme, which aims to establish a network of volunteers ambassadors in affiliated running clubs across England. The role of ambassadors is to support those who are experiencing mental health problems, including helping people to start running, get back into running, or continue running as well as to improve the mental well-being of their existing members.
The programme also aims to raise awareness of mental health problems – by getting people talking about mental health and sharing their experiences – and removing the stigma.
